Chrome extension · Manifest V3
Save a page before you close the tab
One keystroke files the page you are reading into MyNav, with the title and icon already filled in. Right-click turns the selected text into a note, source URL attached.
Free. Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc. Desktop only.
Skip the store review queue — grab the zip and load it unpacked. Try the web app meanwhile
Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+D
Install manually (download the zip)
The extension is still in store review, and the Chrome Web Store is not reachable from mainland China. Downloading the zip and loading it unpacked is the only route today, and it gives you exactly the same extension.
- 1Download and unzip it — you get a folder containing manifest.json.
- 2Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode in the top right.
- 3Click “Load unpacked” and pick the folder you just unzipped.
Extensions installed this way do not auto-update: Chrome may warn that it is not listed in the store on startup, which you can dismiss. For a new version, download the zip again and hit reload on the extensions page.
Folder
Title
Three things it does, daily
It is not another manager in your bookmarks bar — it is the shortest path into the one you actually use.
Save without leaving the page
Press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + D on any page. The popup opens with title, favicon and a suggested folder already filled, so saving is one click — or one Enter.
Keep the paragraph, not the whole page
Select text, right-click, choose “Save selected text to…”. The note keeps the source URL and page title, so you can find it again from either end.
Survives a dropped connection
Saves queue locally when the network is down and flush the moment it comes back. A minute offline costs you nothing.
From install to first save, in a minute
Install and pin it
Add it from the store, or load the zip manually (see the panel above). Then pin it to the toolbar so the shortcut stays available.
Sign in inside the popup
Email and password, right there — no redirect dance. The token stays in your browser, and you can revoke it any time.
Press the shortcut
Any page, any time. It lands in your dashboard before you switch back to the tab.
The permissions, and why each one exists
Chrome lists these warnings at install time. Here is the honest mapping.
storage- Keep your sign-in token and a short offline queue.
contextMenus- Add “Save link” and “Save selected text” to the right-click menu.
activeTab- Read the tab you are on — only after you invoke the extension.
scripting- Grab the current selection for the shortcut. Not a persistent content script.
bookmarks- Read Chrome's bookmark tree during an import, so you preview before anything is written.
No access to your history, no <all_urls>, no remote code. Full detail in the privacy policy.
Where it runs — and where it does not
- Desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc — full support. Any Chromium browser that accepts Chrome Web Store installs.
- Android and iOS — mobile browsers do not run extensions. Add mynav.top to your home screen instead and save through the share sheet.
- Safari and Firefox — not supported yet. The web app works in both.
Questions before installing
Is the extension free?
Yes, and it needs no separate subscription. It signs into the same account as the web app, so 100 free bookmarks — or unlimited on Pro — apply exactly as they do there.
Does it read the pages I visit?
No. It reads the current tab's address and title, and the selected text only when you ask for it. Nothing runs on pages you did not act on.
What happens at the free limit?
The popup shows how many saves you have left and points at the upgrade page. Existing bookmarks stay untouched; only new saves pause.
How do I revoke access?
Remove the extension, or revoke its token in Settings → Account. Either way the token stops working immediately — you do not wait for it to expire.
Ready when you are
Install the extension, or start in the browser now and add it later.
