Is the Free Plan Enough? Choosing After 100 Bookmarks
MyNav's paid tier answers one question: have you saved more than 100 things? Below that line the free plan is not crippled in any way. Above it, Pro solves capacity and movement — not access.
What the free plan actually gives you
- 100 cards / 10 folders — plenty for a long time for most people
- 5 built-in search engines (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Perplexity) plus up to 10 custom ones
- The Chrome extension: save links, and save selected text
- Text notes with a source URL — both card types supported
- Pinning, drag ordering, bulk actions, dark mode — all included, nothing locked
There is no "pinning is a premium feature" trick here. Organizing is the core experience and it is not for sale.
What Pro adds
- Unlimited cards and folders
- Import: HTML bookmark files exported from Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari, up to 5,000 items, folders and dates preserved, duplicates skipped
- Export: HTML (re-importable into any browser) and JSON (full backup, notes included)
- Priority support: your reports go to the front of the queue
Notice that Pro's additions are mostly capacity and data movement, not unlocking basics. That is why many people upgrade months in — usually the day they want to bring an old bookmark file along.
The math
| Plan | Price | Effective |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $3 / month | — |
| Yearly | $24 / year | about $2 / month, 33% off |
Yearly works out to two months free. If you expect to stay, there is no reason to pay monthly; if you are unsure, start monthly and switch later in settings.
Prices are in USD and billed through Waffo. You can cancel at any time without emailing anyone.
Three signals that you need Pro
- You are importing old bookmarks — five years of browser bookmarks will blow past 100 immediately
- You have started saving config snippets and notes — this category grows fastest and is rarely worth deleting
- You still copy links by hand between machines — export/import is the only clean way to rebuild your setup
Conversely, if MyNav is just 20 frequently used sites on a new tab page, the free plan will serve you indefinitely without ever going read-only.
What happens if you downgrade
This is the most common question, and the answer is simple: nothing is deleted.
- All cards, folders, and notes stay readable
- You just cannot add more beyond the free limits
- Existing custom search engines keep working
So the cost of downgrading is a freeze, not a wipe. Resubscribe whenever you want to add again, and everything resumes.
How to cancel
Go to Settings → Plan & billing → Manage subscription and follow the prompts. Pro benefits remain until the end of the current billing period — access is not cut immediately.
If billing ever looks wrong (paid but still showing Free), check the status under "Plan & billing" first, then reach us through the feedback page with your order ID.
