Getting Started with MyNav — Build Your Personal Homepage in 5 Minutes
MyNav turns your browser's new tab into a personal dashboard: all the links you use every day, one click away, on every device. This guide walks you through your first five minutes.
1. Create your account
Click Register in the top bar, enter your email and a password, and you're in — no email verification required. One thing to keep in mind: your email is the only way to recover your password, so double-check it's spelled correctly. You can change it later in Settings → Account (changing your email does require verification).
2. Create your first folders
Folders are how MyNav organizes your homepage. A good starting point:
- Daily — email, calendar, chat, your team's tools
- Work — docs, dashboards, repositories, project boards
- Read Later — articles, videos, and anything you want to come back to
Click + New Folder in the sidebar, give it a name, and it appears instantly. Free accounts can create up to 10 folders — Pro removes the limit.
3. Add your first links
Inside any folder, click the + card:
- Paste the URL — MyNav fetches the page title and icon automatically
- Adjust the title if you like something shorter
- Hit Save
Repeat a few times and your homepage starts to feel like home. You can drag cards to reorder them, or move them between folders at any time.
4. Make it yours
A few touches that pay off immediately:
- Search engine: click the ⚙ icon next to the search box to pick your default — Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave, Perplexity, or your own custom engine
- Language: switch between English and 中文 in the top bar
- Theme: light, dark, or follow your system (Settings → Appearance)
5. Never lose your setup
Once your homepage looks right, head to Settings → Export and download a backup. Free accounts can always export their data as a file.
That's the whole loop: register → folders → links → done. When you're ready for more — bulk-importing years of browser bookmarks, saving pages from anywhere with the Chrome extension, or unlimited bookmarks — check out the other guides in this blog or see Pricing.
